Little Hunter and other mods in 91mm

Here some of my 91 mm modifications.

The “littel Hunter” is a Huntsman on which I changed the wood saw with a small gutting blade. It’s perfect if you have to open packaging and you won’t stick into it.

Another one is a climber without the opener layer. It’s light and thin.

On the pictures you can see some other handle materials I used on a few 91 mm mostly Climbers. Birchwood, LeatherAluminum and black Ebony.

The climber with leather scales feels good in the hand.

Midshipman with scissors

The Alox model called Midshipman is basically a Farmer with a marlinspike. My modification was to exchange the wood saw with a scissors. The idea and the material was contributed by Marco. Thanks Marco!
The back spring for the scissors is a back spring from a Solo. This gives a nice and smooth backside as it is usual on all Alox knives.

Alox Rancher with scissors

One of my favorite Alox models is the Rancher. I like the pruning blade, but I miss the scissors. But hey, no problem let’s add one. And because you can never have to many Alox knives, I’ve made a few. The first one in the pictures is my current EDC.

My first mods have the original scissors backspring from a 91mm knife. It works perfectly, but looks a bit odd because of the gap.

After a few tries I figured out how to improve it. A Solo’s backspring fits perfectly and looks nicer. Now my Alox with scissors have also a beautiful back.

Bicolor Farmer scissors and firesteel

Once again I made a Farmer with scissors. This time I added a fire striker to the back. I used to different scales. The frontside scale is an old red with the silver cross, while the backside scale is a new silver one with Victorinox shield. The steel striker covers the back spring and the gap which is caused by using a 91mm backspring for the scissors.

The steel striker is made by Mr. Fishlin. He also made the steel strikers for the 93mm Alox soldiers which were produced by Victorinox in 1996 – 2002.
