Pioneer 2223 Thailand

This blue – red Pioneer 2223 was made by Victorinox in August 2013. It’s a special run of 150 pieces. The knife is dedicated to the King Chulalongkorn of Thailand (former Siam) and was ordered by a Thai knife enthusiast and is intended for Thai people.

The Victorinox logo in not silver as usual but pink.

An engraving on the backside of the blade shows the year 2556, which is in the Buddhist calendar 2013, and a serial number 123/150. (This knife is the 123rd out of a total of 150 pieces.)

The colors bluered and pink as well as the Elephant are components of the Royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of Siam.

This is the 5th knife of a serie of Alox knives which were released in the last three years, all dedicated to the king of Siam/Thailand.

Midshipman in black and red

The Victorinox Midshipman is a discontinued model with marlinspike.  In July 2013 Victorinox produced two special runs in black of this rare model. Each of these two runs consists of 50 pieces. All knives have a number and the year engraved on the backside of the main blade.

The difference between the two runs is the shield’s color. While one knife is completely black with silver emblem, the other knife has a red shield.

Red – black Pioneer Germany

A very nice bicolor Alox Pioneer without ring from Victorinox. It has a red front scale and a black backside scale. The contours of the logo and the cross are black instead of silver.

The main blade carries an etching with multiple lines of “Deutschland” and “Germany”. The engraving panel on the backside scale shows a German flag and the name DEUTSCHLAND. It’s a three color print in white, red and gold.

It’s a limited special run of 50 pieces. Each knife has a serial number and the year engraved on the backside of the main blade.
